A shared vision for land, people and future
We partnered with Sherford Community Land Trust to develop a brand identity for a new and growing community. As the Trust entered a pivotal phase — welcoming its first members and elected directors — it needed a visual language that could express its core purpose: bringing people together to steward land, buildings and shared spaces for the long term.

Ongoing creative collaboration
The identity is built around a modular marque — a compact composition of symbolic forms that work together to reflect Sherford’s values and aspirations. Each element carries meaning: the house representing community and place, the tree stewardship and sustainability, the river land and movement, with bird and celestial forms introducing ideas of aspiration, rhythm and continuity. Together they form a contemporary patchwork that echoes both the natural landscape and the idea of collective responsibility.
A system designed to grow with the town
Supporting the marque is a clear, confident typographic system designed to balance professionalism with warmth. The identity needed to feel welcoming and accessible to residents while remaining robust enough to support the Trust’s governance, communication and long-term role within the town. Rather than creating a static logo, the system was designed to flex — allowing the visual language to expand across print, digital and environmental applications while remaining recognisable and coherent.
Illustration as a storytelling layer
A key part of the identity’s richness comes from a collaboration with Neasden Control Centre, who developed a bespoke suite of illustrations rooted in Sherford’s character and surroundings. The result is a visual world that connects residents not only to each other, but to the land beneath their feet.
A digital home for the community
Alongside the identity, we designed and built a website with our digital partner Altitude to provide the Trust with a clear and accessible digital presence. The platform brings together information about the organisation, its members and its role within the town — helping residents understand how the Trust works and how they can get involved. Built around the same modular principles as the brand, the site combines structured information with the illustrative language, creating a digital space that feels informative, welcoming and rooted in place.
